Reaction Steps

4-(2-Azidoethyl)-5-methyl-2-phenylthiazole (104 mg, 426 μmol) was combined with triphenylphosphine (123 mg, 468 μmol) and water (1 drop, 4 μL, 222 μmol) at RT. The reaction mixture was stirred at RT overnight and the solvent was removed in vacuo to give a light brown residue. The product was obtained after purification by flash chromatography (using silica gel and a 1M ammonia in methanol/dichloromethane gradient) as colorless semisolid (72.3 mg, 331 μmol, 77.8%).
