920 mg of 1-Benzyloxy-6-(1-benzyl-4-phenyl-piperidin-4-yloxy)-7-chloro-isoquinoline (68) were suspended in 1M HCl and dissolved by addition of methanol. After stirring overnight, the solution was diluted with water, extracted with methyl tert. butyl ether and the aqueous layer was lyophilized. The product was purified by crystallization to give 98 mg of the desired product as a white solid as the hydrochloride. Rt=1.46 min (Method A). Detected mass: 445.3 (M+H+).
