To a mixture of (1aR,5aR)-2-(5-bromopyrazin-2-yl)-1a,2,5,5a-tetrahydro-1H-2,3-diaza-cyclopropa[a]pentalene-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (100 mg, 0.286 mmol) in THF was added 1 N NaOH solution (1.43 mL, 1.43 mmol). The reaction was heated at 120° C. for 1 h under microwave irradiation. The solvent was removed. The residue was added water and acidified with HCl solution to give the title compound (52 mg) as an off-white solid.
