Reaction Steps

4-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-6,7-dihydro-1H-indazole (0.141 g, 0.62 mmol) is dissolved in EtOH (10 mL) and THF (4 mL) and 5% Pd/C (0.090 g) is added. The mixture is stirred under hydrogen (40 psi) for 4 hrs. The mixture is filtered through diatomaceous earth and the filtrate is evaporated to dryness. The residue is purified by silica gel chromatography eluting with 98:2 CH2Cl2:MeOH to give the title compound (0.121 g, 85%). ES/MS m/z 229 (M+1).
