To [5-(4-bromo-phenyl)-3-methyl-isoxazol-4-yl]-acetic acid (0.200 g, 0.68 mmol) in EtOH (3 mL) was added thionyl chloride (0.10 mL, 1.35 mmol), and the reaction was stirred for 1 hour. The mixture was quenched with saturated aqueous NH4Cl and diluted with EtOAc and H2O. After standard aqueous workup, the crude material was purified by silica gel chromatography to give the title compound.
