This compound was prepared according to the procedure B from (2-amino-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-4H-cyclohepta[b]thiophen-3-yl)(p-tolyl)methanone (0.713 g; 2.5 mmol), methyl levulinate (0.350 mL; 2.75 mmol), chlorotrimethylsilane (1.27 mL; 10 mmol) in DMF (10 mL) for 48 h. Purification by flash chromatography on silica gel using a gradient of ethyl acetate (2-40%) in heptane furnished 0.510 g (52%) of the title compound as a yellow solid.
