This compound was prepared according to the procedure C from methyl [2-methyl-4-p-tolyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro[1]benzothieno[2,3-b]pyridin-3-yl]acetate (0.120 g; 0.328 mmol), LHMDS 1N in THF (0.362 mL; 0.362 mmol), 1-iodopropane (0.054 mL; 0.554 mmol) in DMF (5 mL) for 3.5 h. Purification by flash chromatography on silica gel using a gradient of ethyl acetate (5-15%) in heptane furnished 0.101 g (75%) of the title compound as a white solid.
