This compound was prepared according to the procedure C from methyl [2-methyl-4-(p-tolyl)-5H-cyclohepta[4,5]thieno[2,3-b]pyridin-3-yl]acetate (0.510 g; 1.3 mmol), LHMDS 1N in THF (1.44 mL; 1.44 mmol), 1-iodopropane (0.215 mL; 1.95 mmol) in DMF (4 mL) for 5 h. Purification by flash chromatography on silica gel using a gradient of ethyl acetate (2-30%) in heptane furnished 0.434 g (79%) of the title compound as a yellow solid.
