This compound was prepared according to the procedure C from methyl [2-methyl-4-(m-anisyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro[1]benzothieno[2,3-b]pyridin-3-yl]acetate (0.327 g; 0.85 mmol), LHMDS 1N in THF (1.27 mL; 1.27 mmol), 1-iodopropane (0.166 mL; 1.7 mmol) in DMF (4.2 mL) for 18 h. Purification by flash chromatography on silica gel using a gradient of ethyl acetate (2-30%) in heptane furnished 0.213 g (59%) of the title compound as a yellow oil.
