This compound was prepared according to the procedure C from methyl [2-methyl-4-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro[1]benzothieno[2,3-b]pyridin-3-yl]acetate (0.330 g; 0.8 mmol), LHMDS 1N in THF (1.2 mL; 1.2 mmol), 1-iodopropane (0.156 mL; 1.6 mmol) in DMF (4 mL) for 18 h. Purification by flash chromatography on silica gel using a gradient of ethyl acetate (3-80%) in heptane furnished 0.226 g (62%) of the title compound as a yellow oil.
