This compound was prepared according to the procedure C from methyl [2-methyl-4-(p-tolyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro[1]benzothieno[2,3-b]pyridin-3-yl]acetate (0.183 g; 0.5 mmol), LHMDS 1N in THF (0.55 mL; 0.55 mmol), 1-iodo-2,2-dimethylpropane (0.100 mL; 0.75 mmol) in DMF (2 mL) for 18 h. Purification by flash chromatography on silica gel using a gradient of ethyl acetate (5-40%) in heptane furnished 0.043 g (20%) of the title compound as a yellow solid.
