A suspension of 3.25 g (8.84 mmol) 5-[2-(2-fluoro-phenyl)-[1,8]naphthyridin-4-yl]-[2,6]naphthyridin-1-ylamine in 90 ml 2-propanol was heated to 80° C. under stirring. Then 1.13 g (9.72 mmol) maleic acid was added and the reaction mixture was stirred for 3 hours at 80° C. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature. The solid was filtered off and washed with 2-propanol and tert.butylmethylether. The residue was dried under vacuum yielding 5-[2-(2-fluoro-phenyl)-[1,8]naphthyridin-4-yl]-[2,6]naphthyridin-1-ylamine maleate as beige crystals.
