The (2S,4R)-tert-butyl 4-(4-fluoro-2-methylbenzyl)-2-(4-(4-fluorophenoxy)phenylcarbamoyl)pyrrolidine-1-carboxylate (826 mg, 1.59 mmol) was dissolved in methylene chloride (5 mL) and then trifluoroacetic acid (5 mL) was added to the solution. The mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 1 hour, concentrated in vacuo and dried under high vacuum to give (2S,4R)-4-(4-fluoro-2-methylbenzyl)-N-(4-(4-fluorophenoxy)phenyl)pyrrolidine-2-carboxamide trifluoroacetic acid (826 mg, 1.54 mmol, 100%) as a yellow oil.
