A solution of 1.0 g of 3C and 1.0 g of methyl isocyanate in 15 ml of anhydrous ether was held at room temperature for 3 days. Then the solvent was evaporated and the residue was crystallized from hexane to give 1-methyl-3-(5-(1,1-dimethyl-2-methoxyethyl)-1,2-oxazol-3-yl)urea (3D), as a colorless solid, m.p.: 113°-115° C.
