4.03 Grams of Z-Ser-Lys(Tos)-Glu-OH was dissolved in a mixture of 60 ml of methanol with 40 ml of 10%-acetic acid and a small amount of palladium black was added and stirred overnight under introducing hydrogen gas. After completion of the reaction, the catalyst was removed by vacuum filtration, and the filtrate was distilled under a reduced pressure, then the residue was poured into water and was lyophilized to obtain the desired product.
