Procedure

Compound 28 is dissolved in acetic acid (10 ml), refluxed under heating for 3 hours, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue is neutralized with an aqueous solution of sodium hydrogencarbonate and extracted with chloroform. The chloroform layer is washed with water, dried, and concentrated. The residue is treated on column chromatography (silica gel/methanol) to give crystalline Compound 29 (0.55 g), which is recrystallized from ethyl acetate.
