The intermediate 3-[3-(4-{[4-(dimethoxymethyl)-1-piperidinyl]sulfonyl}-phenyl)-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-yl]propanoic acid methyl ester(0.13 g, 0.22 mmol) was dissolved in 10 mL of CH2Cl2 containing 1 mL of TFA and stirred at ambient temperature for 45 minutes. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo to an oil. The residue was partitioned with CH2Cl2 and sat'd NaHCO3. The organic base was dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated in vacuo to give the product (0.2 g) as a clear oil which was used as is.
