A solution of 1-(2S)-1-({4-[(4-{[((2R)-2-hydroxy-2-{4-hydroxy-3-[(methylsulfonyl)-amino]-phenyl}ethyl)amino]methyl}piperidin-1-yl)sulfonyl]-anilinocarbonyl)-pyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester (0.098 g, 0.15 mmol) in methanol (2 mL) and 1N sodium hydroxide (0.55 mL) was stirred at ambient temperature overnight. When the reaction was complete, 1N HCl (0.55 mL) was added. The methanol and water was evaporated. Additional methanol was added, the reaction was filtered through a 0.5 micron filter, and evaporated in vacuo to give the acid (0.035 g).
