Reaction Steps
From the reaction of p-hydrazinobenzoic acid and ethylacetoacetate, 4-(4,5-dihydro-3-methyl-5-oxo-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-benzoic acid is obtained. Subsequent reaction with 2-isopropylaniline yields 4-(4,5-dihydro-4(2-isopropylanilinomethylene)-3-methyl-5-oxo-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-benzoic acid, Mp 269.5° C.
