A mixture of phenyl 4-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)phenylcarbamate (13 g), 2,2-diethoxyethyl amine (7.4 g) and pyridine (3.67 g) was heated at 50° C. for 3 hours. The resultant was cooled and the precipitated crystals were washed with a mixture of diisopropyl ether and petroleum ether (1:1, 100 ml×2) to give 1-(2,2-diethoxyethyl)-3-[4-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)phenyl]urea (14.5 g) as a colorless crystalline
