Procedure

This product was prepared by stirring a solution of Example 23 (0.3 g, 0.66 mmol) in 40 mL of MeOH with NaBH4 (0.1 g, 4 equiv.) at rt for two hours. Evaporation of the solvent gave a residue which was dissolved in DCM (100 mL) and washed twice with water (50 mL). Extraction with DCM, drying over MgSO4 and evaporation in vacuo gave the title compound (0.2 g, 67%) as white crystals after recrystallization from EtOH. MP: 206° C.
