Procedure
756.9 g of N,N′,N″-trimethylmelamine, 135 g of water and 584.1 g of a 37% strength aqueous formaldehyde solution are stirred together at room temperature until the methylolmelamines formed are precipitated from the solution. Thereafter, this mixture is combined with the above mixture and a further 350 g of melamine derivative according to Example 1 and heated for 15 min to 60° C. A clear solution is obtained. After freeze-drying, the resin was obtained as a white solid.
