A solution of Step 1 intermediate (275 mg, 5.816 mmol) was treated with N-iodosuccinimide (143 g, 6.327 mmol) in acetonitrile (10 ml) according to the procedure described in Step 4 of Intermediate 2 to afford a crude product which was purified by column chromatography using 2% ethyl acetate in chloroform as eluent to afford 510 mg of the desired compound as a yellow solid; 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) 1.08 (s, 9H), 3.58 (m, 2H), 3.81 (m, 3H), 7.07-7.12 (m, 2H), 7.30-7.33 (m, 2H), 7.41-7.48 (m, 1H), 7.94-7.96 (m, 1H), 8.23-8.29 (m, 1H); ESI-MS (m/z) 497.21 (M+H)+.
