This compound was prepared from Step 2 intermediate (800 mg, 2.331 mmol), 4-cyanophenylboronic acid (480 mg, 8.271 mmol), Pd[(C6H5)3P]4 (108 mg, 0.093 mmol) and Na2CO3 (1.48 g, 14.023 mol) in a mixture of toluene, ethanol and water according to the procedure described in Intermediate 3, Step 3 to afford the desired product as a light yellow solid; 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 2.49 (s, 3H), 7.53-7.59 (m, 4H), 7.91 (d, J=7.8 Hz, 2H), 8.03-8.10 (m, 1H), 8.80-8.90 (m, 1H); ESI-MS (m/z) 318.30 (M+H)+.
