The title compound was prepared in a similar manner as described for Intermediate 1f, from 6-hydroxy-2,2-dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-benzofuran-4-carboxylic acid methyl ester (197e). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.90 (d, J=9.09 Hz, 2 H) 7.17 (d, J=2.27 Hz, 1 H) 7.10 (d, J=8.84 Hz, 2 H) 6.64 (d, J=2.02 Hz, 1 H) 3.89 (s, 3 H) 3.35 (s, 2 H) 3.06 (s, 3 H) 1.52 (s, 6 H); LCMS for C19H20O5S m/z 377.20 (M+H)+.
