Reaction Steps
To a solution of 3-((3-methylfuran-2-yl)methylene)indolin-2-one (330 mg, 1.47 mmol) in DMF (7.0 mL) was added NBS (265 mg, 1.49 mmol) in DMF (1.0 mL) at 0° C. The reaction was stirred at 0° C. for 1 h and added H2O (13 mL). The resulting precipitate was collected by filtration to yield desired 3-((5-bromo-3-methylfuran-2-yl)methylene)indolin-2-one (320 mg). LCMS (ES): m/z 304 [M+1]+.
