The above nitro compound (0.73 g) was suspended in methanol (100 mL) and 10% palladium on carbon was added. The mixture was hydrogenated at 45 psi for 4 hrs. The mixture was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated to give (S)-3-(5-amino-pyridin-2-ylamino)-pyrrolidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butylamide (0.63 g) as a purple solid. LCMS for C14H23N5O calcd (m/e) 277, obsd 278 (M+H).
