A mixture of 2-phenylpyrazolo[1,5-a]pyridine-3-carbaldehyde (0.5 g) and semicarbazide.hydrochloride (0.25 g) in ethanol (7 ml) was refluxed for 1 hour and then cooled. The resulting precipitates were filtered and recrystallized from a mixture of water and ethanol to give 2-phenylpyrazolo[1,5-a]pyridine-3-carbaldehyde semicarbazone (0 26 g).
