10.7 g (82 mmol) of glycine t-butyl ester are added to a solution of 13 g (82 mmol) of 4-cyanophenyl isothiocyanate dissolved in 100 cm3 of acetonitrile. After 12 hours of stirring, the precipitate formed is filtered off and is then washed with ethyl ether, to give 18.7 g (yield 78%) of the desired thiourea.
