Procedure
A solution of 3-[N-(1-(S)-ethoxycarbonyl-3-phenylpropyl)-L-alanyl]-2,3-dihydro-5-(morpholin-4-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-(S)-carboxylic acid (0.47 g) (prepared from the appropriate starting materials by the process of Example 4) in ethanol (25 ml) was treated with maleic acid (0.11 g). The solvent was removed by evaporation. Trituration of the residue with acetonitrile gave the title product as a white solid (0.31 g). mp 174°-175°.
