Using 0.2 g of the crude 1-(6-hydroxyhexyl)-5,6-dimethylbenzimidazole and 2 ml of a 2-cyanoethylphosphoric acid pyridinium salt solution (1 mmol/ml), and subsequently following the same procedures as in Example 1, 0.35 g of crude 6-(5,6-dimethylbenzimidazolyl)hexylphosphoric acid was obtained.
