Procedure
20 g of 2,6-dichloro-3,5-difluorophenol are introduced into 70 ml of acetic acid, and 8 g of 98% strength nitric acid are added dropwise. Stirring of the mixture is subsequently continued for 2 hours at room temperature, and the mixture is taken up in 150 ml of dichloromethane and washed twice with water. After the dichloromethane has been distilled off, 18 g of product remain. 94% pure according to GC analysis.
