dl-1-Camphor sulphonic acid (67 mg) was added to a solution of Intermediate 14a (268 mg) in methanol (5 ml) and dichloromethane (2 ml). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 48 h. The solvent was evaporated and the residue purified by flash column chromatography eluting with System G (100:100:1) to give the title compound as a colourless foam (55 mg) after azeotroping with heptane to remove acetic acid.
