Procedure
A mixture of dibutyltin oxide, 31.2 g (0.125 mole), 12-hydroxystearic acid, 75 g (0.25 mole), and 250 ml toluene were mixed and reacted as described in Example 1. Removal of toluene yielded 125 g (97% yield) of dibutyltin bis(12-hydroxystearate), a cream colored brittle solid.
