Procedure

1 ml of N,O-dimethylhydroxylamine was added progressively to a mixture of 2.88 g of 2-methyl-3-(p-chlorobenzoyl)-phenylacetic acid and 2.06 g. of dicyclohexylcarbodiimide in 50 ml of chloroform and the mixture was stirred for 4 hours at room temperature. The precipitate was filtered off and the filtrate was evaporated to dryness to obtain N-methoxy-N,2-dimethyl-3-(p-chlorobenzoyl)-phenylacetamide.

Workup

  1. filtrationThe precipitate was filtered off
  2. customthe filtrate was evaporated to dryness
