Procedure
To a 1.0 g. portion of 1-(3-p-fluorobenzoylpropyl)-4-[5-(trifluoromethyl)-3-isoxazolyl]pyridinium perchlorate, prepared as described in Example 8, in 40 ml. of methanol, is added portionwise with stirring 1.0 g. of sodium borohydride. The mixture is stirred for 2 hours and poured into ice-water causing the formation of a white solid which is collected and recrystallized from methanol, m.p. 120.5°-121.5°C.
