Procedure
Methyl-2-methoxyimino-2-(3-chloro-4-methoxyphenyl)acetate (syn isomer) (2.7 g.) and a 2 N aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (10.6 ml.) were treated according to a similar manner to that of Preparation (5-3) (c) to give crystals of 2-methoxyimino-2-(3-chloro-4-methoxyphenyl)acetic acid (syn isomer) (2.6 g.), mp 133° to 135° C. (dec.).
