Reaction Steps
Ethyl 2-(4-fluorobenzyloxyimino)-3-oxo-4-chlorobutyrate (syn isomer, 29.0 g.), thiourea (8.8 g.), sodium acetate (7.9 g.), water (72.5 ml.), tetrahydrofuran (60 ml.) and ethanol (72.5 ml.) were treated in a similar manner to that of Preparation 14-(2) to give ethyl 2-(4-fluorobenzyloxyimino)-2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)acetate (syn isomer, 28.0 g.).
