1,12-bis (4-ethylphenoxy) dodecane is prepared from sodium 4-ethylphenoxide and 1,12-dichlorododecane, according to the method of Example 1, and sulfonated to the disulfonic acid derivative and neutralized with sodium hydroxide according to the method of Example 2, to afford the disodium sulfonate derivative.
