Reaction Steps
To a solution of 46.1 (0.165 g, 0.53 mmol) in MeOH (6 mL) was added sodium borohydride (0.040 g, 1.05 mmol) in one portion at room temperature. The mixture was stirred for 30 minutes, quenched with 1 N HCl, and extracted with EtOAc. The combined organic layers were washed with water and brine, dried (MgSO4), and concentrated. The crude product was chromatographed on silica gel (0-30% EtOAc/hexane) to afford 46.2 (0.164 g, 99%) as a colorless oil.
