N-(3-Dimethylaminopropyl)-N′-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (1.34 g, 7 mmol) was added to a stirring solution of isophthalic acid (1.66 g, 10 mmol) and 3-(trifluoromethyl)benzenamine (0.8 g, 5 mmol) in anhydrous CH2Cl2 (10 mL) and DMF (10 mL). The mixture was stirred at room temperature under argon for 2 h. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure and recrystalized from water to afford the title compound as a white solid after washed by CHCl3 (1.5 g, 49%).
