Ammonia → Diammonium succinate
Reaction equation
[C:1]([OH:8])(=[O:7])[CH2:2][CH2:3][C:4]([OH:6])=[O:5].[NH3:9].[Ca]>>[C:1]([O-:8])(=[O:7])[CH2:2][CH2:3][C:4]([O-:6])=[O:5].[NH4+:9].[NH4+:9]Participants

Procedure
2.24 kg of the slurry solution obtained in the above salt substitution reaction was separated into the filtrate and precipitate by a Nutsche funnel filtration. Finally, 1.82 kg of the solution and 0.42 kg of the precipitates were obtained. The molar ratio of the succinic acid in the solution was 1.92 to ammonia and 0.13 to calcium, respectively. It was found that 91% of calcium was removed as precipitates by the salt substitution reaction, and an ammonium succinate solution was obtained. Calcium in the removed precipitates was 32.2% of the total solid matter, and succinic acid was less than 8.0%.
