Procedure

Manganese(IV) oxide (46.0 mg, 0.53 mmol) was added to a solution of tert-butyl [(6S,9R)-6-(2,3-difluorophenyl)-3-methyl-5,6,7,8,9,9a-hexahydro-1H-imidazo[1,5-a]azepin-9-yl]carbamate (20.0 mg, 0.053 mmol) in toluene (7 mL). The reaction mixture was heated to reflux. After 8 h, additional manganese (IV) oxide (46.0 mg, 0.53 mmol) was added. After 16 h, the reaction mixture was allowed to cool to ambient temperature. The mixture was filtered, washed with methanol, and concentrated. Purification by preparative thin layer chromatography (9% methanol/dichloromethane) gave the title compound (5 mg). MS 378.1 (M+1).
