Reaction Steps
tert-Butyl 4-(3-(5-methylpyridin-2-yloxy)benzylidene)piperidine-1-carboxylate (1.24 g, 3.26 mmol) from Step 4 was dissolved in CH2Cl2 (10 mL) and treated with HCl in dioxane (3.26 mL, 4.0 M, 13 mmol). After 16 h the reaction was concentrated in vacuo to provide the title compound as a white solid (1.48 g).
