Reaction Steps
To 1C (1.68 g, 5.47 mmol) in CH3CN (55 mL) was added potassium carbonate (1.13 g, 8.20 mmol), tetrabutylammonium bromide (88 mg, 0.27 mmol) and methyl iodide (3.40 mL, 54.7 mmol) and the reaction was heated to reflux overnight. After cooling to rt and concentrating, the remaining residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate and washed with water (3×) and brine. The organic layer was dried (MgSO4), filtered and concentrated to provide ID (1.50 g) as a yellow oil. LC-MS: 321.95 (M+H)+.
