To a solution of 3-(4-hydroxy-benzoylamino)-propionic acid methyl ester (0.11 g, 0.49 mmol) and 4-chloromethyl-3-methyl-4′-trifluoromethyl-biphenyl (0.12 g, 0.41 mmol) in acetonitrile (4 mL) is added Cs2CO3 (0.20 g, 0.61 mmol). The mixture is stirred at RT for 12 h. The mixture is diluted with water and extracted with EtOAc. The organics are dried with MgSO4, and the crude material is purified by flash chromatography to yield 0.11 g (58%) of the title compound.
