To a solution of methyl (7R)-7-(benzyl{2-[(tert-butoxycarbonyl)amino]ethyl}amino)-14-cyclohexyl-3-fluoro-7,8-dihydro-6H-indolo[1,2-e][1,5]benzoxazocine-11-carboxylate in dioxane (0.1 M) was added 2M KOH aqueous solution (3 eq). The mixture was warmed to 60° C. After 2 h the mixture was neutralized by addition of 1N aqueous HCl and all volatiles were evaporated in vacuo. The residual material was taken up with EtOAc and water. The organic phase was separated and the aqueous layer was extracted with EtOAc. After drying the organic phases over Na2SO4 all volatiles were evaporated in vacuo (97%). (ES+) m/z 652 (M+H)+.
