Reaction Steps
To a solution of 1,1′-carbonyldiimidazole (18.1 mg, 0.11 mmol) in 5.0 mL of CHCl3 was added the product of Step B (0.07 mmol) and NEt3 (51.8 μL, 0.37 mmol) in 5.0 mL of CHCl3. The mixture was allowed to stir at rt for 2 h and then refluxed for 16 h. After cooling to rt, the reaction mixture was diluted with EtOAc (50 mL) and washed with brine (2×50 mL). The organic layer was separated, dried over MgSO4, and concentrated. Chromatography on a Biotage 40+S cartridge using EtOAc as the eluant afforded the title compound: 1H NMR δ 1.48 (s, 3H), 1.58 (s, 3H), 2.00-2.09 (m, 2H), 3.18-3.50 (m, 4H), 4.70 (br. s, 1H), 5.44 (m, 1H), 7.00 (d, J=8.5, 2H), 7.18-7.27 (m, 4H), 7.50 (s, 1H).
