Alcohol 26.4 (77.0 mg, 0.37 mmol) was dissolved in anhydrous DCM (5.0 mL). Thionyl chloride (0.041 mL, 0.56 mmol) was added dropwise to the above solution. The resulting mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24 hours. The organic solvent was then removed under vacuo to give a white solid (80 mg). The crude product (26.5) was used in the next step without further purification.
