To a stirred solution of 10-3 (0.5 g, 0.9 mMol) in 16 mL of 3:1 toluene:methanol was added trimethyl orthoformate (0.3 g, 2.7 mMol) and p-toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate (0.017 g, 0.09 mMol). The reaction was heated to 100° C. in a microwave reactor for 1 hour. After cooling to room temperature, the solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The product was purified on a C18 reverse phase HPLC to give 10-4 as a solid. Mass (M+1) calculated: 565.2571 observed: 565.2523
